Why I Cannot Marry An Actor - Nollywood Actress, Ferrari Bongkem Opens Up

Ferrari Bongkem

Beautiful Nigerian actress, Ferrari Bongkem has granted a new interview, revealing why she cannot marry an actor. Ferrari Bongkem is blessed with rare acting talent. Popularly known as ‘Omotoke Gold’ in Nollywood, the chubby role interpreter, who is also a producer and skin therapist, opens up on her career, relationship, nationality and sundry other issues.

How did you come into acting?

I came into the industry through Kunle Afod, who was introduced to me by a marketer.

Who’s the marketer?

I would love to keep it private for now.

How long have you been in the industry?

The first movie I did was ‘Olosho’ by Kunle Afod in 2010. And that makes it my 8th year in the industry.

How many movies have you featured in?

I have featured in a whole lot of movies including ‘Angela’, ‘Omotoke Gold’, ‘Iran’, ‘Divorce Not Allowed’, ‘Texi’, ‘Olosho’ and so many others.

How did you come about your name, Ferrari Bongkem?

Ferrari Bongkem is my real name. My dad named me ‎Ferrari while Bongkem is my indigenous name, being a Cameroonian.

How naughty can you go for acting?

Naughty? No… I have my limits. I can’t pass the kissing and hugging part. I love my job with passion but I have my limits

Have you produced any movie yet?

Yes, I have. I am the producer of ‘Omotoke Gold’ and ‘Iran’.

What project are you working on right now?

I am currently working on two movies to be released soon by God’s grace.

You have a smooth skin. How do you care for your skin?

I exfoliate, scrub and moisturize.

How do you handle your male admirers?

I am an adult. I appreciate men’s compliments but I don’t lead them on. I turn men down politely.

What’s your take on lesbianism in Nollywood?‎

I can’t figure out anyone who is a lesbian amongst us. Their sexuality is their business. If it’s not having a negative impact on anyone, then it’s good.

Do you believe in s*x before marriage?

Yes, I am not perfect! But I have to be sure we are s*xually attractive to each other.

What’s your selling point?

I don’t know ooooooo. You can tell me (laughter).

Can you date your best friend’s ex?

No, I can’t. That doesn’t mean he’s bad, but I can’t. He wouldn’t be an ex if he was good for her. Girls code is a ‘no, no’.

‎What is your take on love without money?

I can’t date a man that has no source of income. Relationship takes commitments and sacrifices from both sides. You have to be comfortable. You can’t give what you don’t have.

Do you think money answers all questions?

No, money makes life beautiful, but cannot answer all questions. If it does, then the rich will live forever.

Who amongst the Nollywood actors can you date?

They are all wonderful but I can’t date or marry an actor. I am way too possessive and jealous a person to settle down with one. Though, I am crushing on Don Jazzy, there are many women that want him too.

Are you in any serious relationship right now?

No. I am very single.

Can you marry a man younger than you?

Yes, I can, if he’s very mature. Age is not maturity so far he can treat a woman well.

How do you relax?

I love to watch movies and cook for my younger ones, because our parents are late.

How are you coping as an orphan?

God has always been good to me. He says, ‘when your father and mother forsake you, I will not forsake you’.

If not acting, what would you have done?

Apart from acting, I am into skincare trade. I love business and I will always be a businesswoman.

Do you think you are living the life of your dreams?

Oh yes, but I have not gotten there yet. But then I am grateful to God for His mercy upon my life.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

By His special grace, I see myself married to a God fearing man, with lovely children, and doing great at my work.
