Invitation for Past & Present Pageant Winners in Nigeria to. Attend The United Nations(Women) Endorsed Conference scheduled to hold onOctober 17th, 2016 ( World Poverty Eradication Day). Focused on Advancing Agenda 2030 viz the implementation for Empowering Youths in Achieving the Sustainable Development and Goals in Nigeria and Africa at Large which will also Foster the endorsement of all participating queens as " GLITZ & GLAMOUR QUEENS OF PLANET 50/50 CHAMPIONS " for the campaign of Gender Equality in Africa & the world at Large.
The UN ( Women) is an NGO aimed at advocating for women in various countries and Nigeria's involvement in this campaign is key and sets a great example for our African counterparts.
The project is focused on Empowerment of youths to campaign fervently on Gender Equality with the indication of facts arising from women lacking access to decent work, facing occupational segregation and gender wage gaps. It is also realised that women are often denied access to basic education and health care as they are also under-represented in political and economic decision-making processes.
This event will foster a dynamic and strong leadership character for youths, providing them with a powerful voice at the global, regional and local levels.
All beauty queens and fashion icons in Nigeria will join forces with UN ( Women) in the vision of equality enshrined in the UN Charter to firmly advocate for the:
1) Elimination of discrimination against women and girls;
2) Empowerment of women and girls; and
3) Achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action, peace and security.
These aforementioned issues constitute the priority in the on-going undertakings between the UN Women and its partners within the UN system and outside, especially in light of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development hence, this Event will feature over 500 Winners of Beauty pageants ( Past & Present) from various contest in all states in Nigeria .
All Pageant Queens are hereby invited to participate in this National Conference and create more buzz. In additional to creating significant public awareness, We invite our celebrity queens to stand up for Nigeria and usher our youths towards this great event.
