The students beating and pelting their principal with stones
A shocked school principal has been left shamed and disgraced after students beat and stoned him in public over a disagreement. A school principal has been left embarrassed and disgraced by his own students after the pursued, beat and pelt him with stones in Kenya.
Kenyans revealed that, drama ensued at the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology in Nakuru after the institution's Principal was pelted with stones during an impromptu visit by Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Fred Matiang'i.
It was gathered that while on his way out of the college, students blocked him and beat him before pelting him with a stone as they chanted messages expressing their displeasure in the running of affairs at the institution.
Principal Eddy Koimett was forced to run for his dear life. Reports indicate that police officers were forced to shoot in the air to disperse the irate learners who had blocked the CS's convoy demanding to be addressed by him.
When normalcy returned, the learners were allowed to air their grievances during which they cited tribalism and nepotism in the disbursement of loans, manipulation of student elections, increment of fees and intimidation by the administration.
After hearing their concerns, CS Matiang'i directed the institution's management to hold students' election within two days and submit a report on the exercise to the Education Ministry.
