Pictures of the Federal Government intervention work on the popular Itu road in the South-south part of Nigeria have emerged. The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC in the person of Ibim Semenitari inspected the Calabar-Itu road that is under emergency rehabilitation by the commission.
In less than two weeks the commission instructed the engineers to move from the headquarters of the NDDC to the site and due to the commitment of Mrs Semenitari, the work has swiftly progressed to make life comfortable for residents and other travellers.
"The people of Akwa Ibom are happy that the road is passable now. Drivers are happy they could ply this same road that was cut off" a resident said.

Meanwhile, the gory pictures of the Itu road which is strategic surfaced on social media days ago as residents lament in agony. Residents have hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for his prompt intervention.
