Residents have been left totally shocked after a woman discovered a dead body tied up inside the bush. A woman identified as Gogo Gladys Matlakane recently made a shocking discovery that shook her up.

She had gone into the bush to answer the call of nature, but after a few seconds she came running back to the road screaming her lungs out.

According to Daily Sun SA, for a moment her friend, Florah Monareng, 61, who was waiting for her on the side of the road, thought she was being chased by a vicious beast or a rapist.

However, Gogo Gladys, 65, of Songeni near Thulamahashe in Mpumalanga, South Africa, had stumbled across a body in the bush, lying with both hands and feet tied.

The sight of the dead body terrified her so much that she ran past her friend without saying anything.

The incident has left the village terrified.

The two women were on their way home after collecting cans for recycling in nearby villages on Monday.

Gogo Gladys had asked her friend, Florah, to wait for her while she slipped into the bush to relieve herself.

“I was about to help myself when I saw the body lying face down,” she said. “I was so terrified I screamed and ran back onto the road.”

Gogo Gladys ran past her friend and only stopped when she came across a truck which was being followed by a police van. She took the cops to the bush where the body was.

Tyron Gumede, 26, identified the body as that of his brother, Jimmy Gumede, 36, who was last seen on Sunday afternoon.

“I last spoke to my brother on Sunday at about 1pm,” he said. “He was well. He didn’t mention any impending danger to his life. Cops should bring his killers to book,” said Tyron.

Constable Sonile Usinga said the body had multiple bullet wounds in the head and legs.

"There was no blood at the scene,” said Usinga. “It appears he was killed elsewhere before his body was dumped at the scene.”
