Residents have been left in shock following the discovery of a woman who was found dead sometime after she was declared missing. The corpse of one Blessing Ogammer, a 27-year old housewife has been recovered by police detectives in Aboh Police Division in Delta State yesterday.
The woman's body was found after she was reported to have been missing by her husband, Felix Ogammer.
According to Leadership, reports say the housewife, a resident of Akala Street, Utagba-Uno, Kwale community, was found in the bush at the end of Ogbegonogo street, Aboh.
Confirming the incident, the state police commissioner, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim, told journalists that the deceased was reported to have gone to Aboh town to trade on plantain before she went missing and was subsequently recovered dead by the police detectives in Aboh.
The police boss disclosed that sequel to the development, the police detectives commenced discreet investigation and arrested one Chukwudi Ijoma 18-year old around Ogbeonogo street, Aboh in connection with the heinous crime, adding that the suspect upon interrogation confessed to have killed the housewife and raped her as he was acting on some spiritual influence.
In another development, under three months period review, the police detectives have arrested no fewer than 23 suspected rapists who were allegedly involved in serial-rapists across the state while the police also arrested four suspected cultists.
The police commissioner, Zanna Ibrahim said following information that suspected cultists were terrorising Okpanam community, operatives of Special Anti-cultism unit swung into action and arrested one Elue Onyezoba, 26 years, James Igbinoba, 20 years, Ndubuisi Obiegbolo, 30 years, adding that the suspects confessed to being members of the Black Axe and Supreme Viking confraternities upon interrogation.
The police commissioner further revealed that one Miss Ifunaya Odozie, 12-years old was kidnapped in Ashaka, adding that the police acting on available intelligence report, a team of SARS operatives led by the officer in charge stormed Kwale town with the assistance of men of Kwale Division Kwale Anti-cult Unit, arrested one Chukwutem Ifemeneokwu, Frank Nduku and Emmanuel Okpuhi.
He said that the suspects upon interrogation confessed to have kidnapped the victim and raped her after collecting a ransom of N70,000 from the family, adding that the suspects also confessed to have kidnapped one Miss Ajirhe Edhebe in Kwale and collected a ransom of N200,000 which was shared among them as the principal suspect, Chukwukem Ifemeneokwu further confessed that part of his share of the ransom money was given to his wife to invest on her provision business.
