A recent scientific study found that men with bald heads are perceived to be more masculine, dominant and stronger. So if you are bald don’t worry, embrace it by shaving your hair off and whatever you do, according to the study, do not wear a toupee, comb over or try hiding your baldness.
Females will in general perceive men with a shaved head as more confident.
According to the American Hair Loss Association, two thirds of men will at least lose some hair by age 35, whilst by the age of 50, 85% will have experienced a significant amount of hair loss. Nevertheless some degree of psychological issues may arise if men lose their hair when they are younger than 22.
Instead of concealing hair loss, we suggest embracing baldness by shaving one’s head. A shaved head will grow stubble in the same manner and at the same rate as a shaved face. The general public has become accepting of the shaved head.
Luckily our society has accepted the trend that bald men shave their hair off completely. Most men who start losing their hair are actually encouraged to shave it off completely at the very first signs of thinning hair.
Young males may experience psychological stress due to hair thinning and baldness at first, but once someone accepts his baldness, the confidence level and self-worth value go up drastically. Whilst an exact explanation as to why, on average, women find men with shaved heads sexier hasn’t been found yet, various theories exists.
Women looking at a man’s face usually notice the hair first, however in the absence of hair, women look at the eyes instead and we know that first impressions count the most, therefore men with no hair whatsoever direct a lady’s attention to their eyes instead and if they are able to maintain eye-contact they can create rapport more easily.
Another theory states that women might associate men with a shaved hair with babies and therefore their motherly instinct kicks in.
Women also reported on their preferences for facial hair on men. Most women were split, with some saying they loved men with a short beard and others said they preferred clean shaven men.
Nevertheless all agreed that whatever facial hair style men choose they should look groomed and hygienic, so taller and scruffy beards are out of the question.
