Refusing to leave behind the hurts of past relationships, and not fully moving away from them will always cost you future relationships.
According to Nancy Nichols, an American relationships and dating expert, the number one issue that causes men to lose interest in relationships, and eventually call it quits is that women often drag the baggage of a past hurtful relationships around with them.
Nichols says when women have had their hearts broken more than once, they often tend to become bitter, lumping all men into one category – “liars, cheaters, assholes.”
This, she says, causes them to build up a defense, which might not totally be a bad thing, until it makes them totally unattractive to several men [including the good ones] who might normally have shown interest in them.
Such women always have their outlook on life changed from one of trusting, loving, and cheerfulness to one which literally screams "I'm not going to put up with a man's crap! I don't trust men. I like my life, I don't have to have a man."
When such woman eventually starts to date or becomes romantically involved again, she still retains the bitterness, and self-defense which hinders her from giving her all to the relationship.
“Conversations with this kind of woman are draining, gloomy and non-productive. She contributes to your conversation with her highly opinionated comments. She counters your comments with her combative point of views."
To such woman, her statements express how tough, capable, intelligent, and independent she is.
However to a man, it’ll often be interpreted as being “narrow-minded, disagreeable and argumentative.”
This eventually tires the man and makes him pull out of the relationship, and sends the woman back into her bitterness, anger and belief that all men are cheaters, when in fact, the problem and fault lies at her own feet.
