The Indian teacher mercilessly beating the students
A private coaching teacher has landed in trouble after a video showing him beating students mercilessly went viral on social media.
The teacher identified as Pradeep Arora is said to be the owner of the Eponymous Coaching Centre. He was secretly filmed by a student on his mobile phone while he slapped school students, grabbed girls by their hair and hit students with sticks.
NewIndianExpress revealed that the teacher assaulted the students for not finishing their homework, coming late to class and poor scores in tests.
Arora has been booked under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
"A news channel showed a video footage of a coaching centre teacher beating school students. This is a cognizable offence. We have registered a case on the basis of news report. Investigation is going on in the case and once the truth is known we will investigate accordingly," said Karnal's Superintendent of Police Pankaj Nain.
However, no formal complaint has been filed by any of the students or their parents so far. Arora, a retired Indian Navy officer, has been running the coaching centre since 1999.
He said that parents of the students had given him a free hand to ensure that their children did well in school.
"Many parents come here saying give any punishment, we want results as you are from the defence. Parents want to send their children outside, they need to be trained. Then, in those cases, we try to be stricter in terms of teaching them discipline," claimed Arora.
