Odumakin who had a bitter confrontation with the government and security operatives over her human rights activities was man-handled during a the May 19, 2004 protest. Odumakin was a vocal voice in Nigeria's politics as she frowned at the battle for power between Obasanjo and his deputy Atiku which nearly threw the country into chaos during Obasanjo's rule.

However, it seems like all things are not normal as Odumakin has revealed that former President Obasanjo has apologized for the shameful conduct of his security operatives back then.
