If you are too fond of skipping tour breakfast everyday, then you had better stopped the act or risk getting these dangerous diseases. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day according to new research.

If you're constantly rushing out of the house in the morning before you've eaten breakfast, listen up.

Breakfast has long been dubbed the most important meal of the day because it starts your metabolism and therefore encourages fat-burn.

But skipping breakfast could have some serious health implications, according to medical experts.

Missing your morning meal could leave you at risk of heart attack, stroke or diabetes.

Experts say those who skip breakfast — around one in four adults — are also more likely to have high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

They are also more likely to be overweight or obese and have poor nutrition.

Eating late at night can also been linked with an increased risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

The best plan, if you want to stay healthy, is to eat your meals at regular well-spaced intervals.

The healthiest people are those who plan their meals ahead and eat a well balanced diet that is full of nutrients and low in fats and sugars.

The latest findings were discovered by researchers at Columbia University in New York and published in the American Heart Association journal Circulation.

A diet rich in fruit, vegetable, whole grains, low-dairy products, poultry and fish, has been recommended by associate professor of nutritional medicine Dr Marie-Pierre St-Onge.

He also suggests “eating mindfully” to combat eating for emotional reasons. However, they didn't specifically state the best times of day to eat your meals.
