As controversies continue to trail the bullet-proof SUV Jeep seized by the Nigerian Customs Service, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has on Monday, sworn an oath, that he didn't import the vehicle.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, appeared before the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges over the seizure of a bullet-proof Range Rover sports utility vehicle belonging to the senate president.
After taking oath, Saraki stated that he never imported any SUV Range Rover jeep and that no document shows he imported the car.
According to earlier reports, the car with chassis number “SALGV3TF3EA190243" was seized on January 11, 2017 by the Nigerian Customs and is said to be worth N298 million.
Saraki has since denied the allegation. His appearance before the committee is to clear the air and prove beyond reasonable doubt that he was not involved in the deal.
Below are Tweets we culled from the Nigerian Senate accounts who are reporting live from National Assembly;
The hearing was still ongoing as at the time of filing this report.
