Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr Makes Final Decision on Enyeama

Vincent Enyeama

Gernot Rohr appears to have closed the door to the return of legendary Nigerian goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama despite needing a goalie. Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr has stated that  he needs a replacement for  Goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme just as he revealed that  the erstwhile Super Eagles goalie, Vincent Enyeama, has no place in his team.

In an exclusive telephone chat with  Sportinglife,  Rohr said the selection of a first choice goalkeeper against Indomitable lions of Cameroon would depend on the recommendation of the new Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer.

Rohr: "I want the best for the eagles and my target is to qualify for the Russia 2018 World Cup. Cameroon is a very good side and I want the best for the match.  I want a goalkeeper with 100% confidence.  A keeper that can take charge and control his defence.

“I am also happy that since I joined the camp in Kano, the players have improve  their games.  I have told them that their getting a jersey  would depend how they perform against Benin Republic in a CHAN qualifier billed for next weekend.

He added:  “I speak  with, Mikel Obi daily and I am happy that he has returned to full training. I monitor  other Nigerian players playing in China”.
