Mikel Obi's Father Rescued From Kidnappers After They Demanded N10m

The agents of Nigerian Police Force in Enugu State have said that it has protected John Mikel Obi's dad from the ruffians' nook in a network in the state.

Dad Michael Obi, the dad of Super Eagles Captain, Mikel Obi, has been once more safeguarded from criminals by the Enugu State Police Command on Monday, after the ruffians were said to have requested N10m as payoff from Obi's family. 

In an announcement discharged to the media, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, said that Pa Obi and his driver, John Ishaya, were kidnapped on Makurdi-Enugu Road on June 29. 

As per PUNCH Metro, police said Mikel's dad, was headed from Jos, Plateau State, in a dim shading Toyota Prado Sports Utility Vehicle with number plate, MUS 604CG, when he was hijacked. 

The Police representative said around 2pm on Monday, agents of the ninth Mile Division of the summon safeguarded Pa Obi and his driver in a backwoods in the Udi region of Enugu, including that the save was gone before by a weapon fight between the police and the ruffians, who got away subsequent to being overwhelmed by the security specialists. 

Amaraizu stated, "The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, through its agents saved Pa Michael Obi and his driver, one Ishaya John, safe in Egede Udi timberland on Monday, July 2, 2018, around 2.30pm along old Egede-Affa Road, Enugu. 

"They were safeguarded sound and generous and dad Michael Obi and the driver have been brought together with their families. 

"Dad Obi and his driver were snatched along Markurdi-Enugu Road on his way from Jos and taken to a thick timberland. 

"The abductors called to request a payoff of N10m before policemen, following up on knowledge data, swooped on them, after which a firearm duel resulted which constrained the criminals to relinquish their casualties inside the timberland and fled." 

The police representative included that Pa Obi praised the police for the save. "He said thanks to the Commissioner of Police, Danmallam Mohammed, and the agents, saying he is content with the agents' execution," the announcement read. 

The PPRO included that a group of specialists from the police therapeutic unit had directed restorative minds Pa Obi affirmed that he was sound and generous. 

The charge encouraged individuals from general society, especially healing center specialists, to keep an eye out for anybody with projectile injuries, noticing that such individual could be a piece of the escaping hijack pack that kidnapped Pa Obi and his driver. 

This would be the second time that Pa Obi was seized. He was first abducted in August 2011.
