A victim of the incident
At least two persons have died after notorious armed robbers stormed Union Bank and killed many people. A security officer and others were among those killed after a group of armed robbers stormed a branch of Union Bank of Nigeria in Igede, Ekiti on Wednesday evening.
The men who were fully armed were said to have stormed the town at about 5pm and held the area hostage for over forty minutes, while shooting sporadically during the robbery attack.
According to online reports, the security officer of the bank, identified as Tope was shot dead during the attack, leaving two others seriously injured.
