Former NSA, Sambo Dasuki May Soon be Released by DSS

Sambo Dasuki

Unconfirmed reports have it that the Federal Government has bowed to international pressure to release beleaguered former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki following the ruling of the ECOWAS Court. Sambo Dasuki could be re-uniting with his aged father and family soonest, following a sketchy revelation by online news platform, Sahara Reporters.

Mr. Dasuki has been incarcerated since the early days of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration for the alleged misappropriation of $2.1 billion originally budgeted to procure arms for the Nigerian army to combat the Boko Haram sect.

Dasuki could be covertly taken to the northern part of the country by the operatives of the Directorate of State Security to visit his aged father after which he would be released on bail. This is coming on the heels of the ruling by an ECOWAS court that ordered the Nigerian Government to release Dasuki immediately and compensate him with a sum of N15 million for his extended incarceration without bail.

It would be recalled that President Buhari during a presidential media chat reaffirmed his stand on the continued detention of Dasuki on the grounds of corruption and gross abuse of office.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government was yet to make an official announcement concerning the freedom of Dasuki as at the time of filing this report.
